Peugeot 407 destined for Iran early spring 2007

            TEHRAN – Peugeot 407 is going to be introduced to Iran’s auto market in early spring 2007, the Persian service of ISNA reported on Tuesday.
            The new 407, a progeny of 405 and 406 models, is offered with two types of engines, gasoline and diesel, with the choice of 5-speed manual or automatic gearbox.
The spirited gas engine picks up 0-100 km/h in 9.2 seconds while the high-tech diesel does the rush in 8.5 seconds. The top speed is set at 222 and 230 km/h respectively.
The handling and ride is enhanced and the red-leather upholstery option gives the interior design attractive and sporty look. The mid control panel (console) is nevertheless seems too packed.
Peugeot plans to sell 2,000 407s in the first year tagged at 300-400 million rials ($33,000-$44,000).
